The Vaad is comprised of Rabbinic and lay leaders.
Rabbi Daniel Rockoff and Rabbi Herbert Mandl provide the rabbinic leadership as Rav HaMachshir and Vaad Rabbinic Chairperson, respectively. The Rav Hamachshir is the halachic or legal authority on kashruth issues, as it regards defining of policy as per kashruth standards to be upheld by the Vaad, and is consulted on specific issues as they arise and need input and/or decision-making regarding Jewish Law. This person is responsible for overseeing the proper training of mashgichim as well as the appropriate implementation of establishing and overseeing of kashruth standards.
